Every home has a programme of activities tailored around our residents' interests providing social stimulation in our caring environments.
I have no fault to find with the staff… and I especially admire the trouble taken to offer activities for the residents and the warm encouragement they are given to take part
The staff are very friendly, helpful and very efficient. The manager is also helpful and friendly. On arrival to the home, myself and my friend felt very welcome. My husband is very settled and looks comfortable.
My 85 year old friend, was treated with the utmost dignity and respect. Call bell answered promptly. All staff are friendly, courteous and very helpful. I would highly recommend this home, especially as it has only just opened, plus physio was given when asked for.
The care centre is efficiently run, with extremely pleasant staff, always willing to offer help/advice. The residents bedrooms are excellent , extremely comfortable with first rate facilities. The food served up is very well cooked tasty and hot. Top marks to the chef! I feel my wife has settled into the home extremely well and seems so happy and contented. It is a great relief to me, knowing she is being looked after so well
We were delighted when my brother-in-law and I found this home for my sister, it was all we had hoped for, clean, bright with a warm and bright atmosphere. I visit my sister at least once a week and she always looks so well and happy. All the staff welcome me as a friend, always happy to talk to me about my sister and she seems very fond of them. They are extremely patient when helping her to stand with her walking frame. The food looks and smells delicious. The activities are well run by a very enthusiastic organiser. I would like to single out the manageress, the lead nurse who welcomes us in and the activities organiser for special praise.
I am very pleased with this home. I feel that my mother is safe and well cared for at Birchlands. It is clean and bright. The residents are encouraged to mix in the lounge and a full range of activities is provided to keep them occupied. My mother has dementia and the staff are very kind and patient with her. The staff are very caring and overall the home has a happy atmosphere.
My mother was admitted to Byron Lodge and stayed until she passed away. She was very poorly and therefore needed intense care around the clock 24/7. I have tremendous appreciation for the care, consideration and compassion shown to my mother by all the staff during her short stay. They ensured she was constantly monitored, washed and kept tidy and fed, particularly her favourite dish - ice cream, thus ensuring that she passed away peacefully, painlessly and with dignity which is all I wanted for her last days.
