Palliative care and support in a familiar environment
Palliative care is for people with advanced, progressive and incurable conditions who are approaching the end of their life. The support offered at our Astonbrook care homes is holistic and takes into account each individual’s wishes and preferences, respect for their spiritual needs, effective symptom control, and after care for close family members and carers.
The aim of our palliative care services is to ensure that residents who spend their last days with us are cared for in a familiar place, surrounded and supported by familiar faces. All of our care homes are centred in their local communities, making it easy for relatives to visit, and allowing your loved one to feel secure in the knowledge of being close enough to home.
Many of our residential homes also receive regular visits from organisations in the local community, be that schools, churches or other neighbourhood groups, providing emotional and social stimulation when it’s needed the most.
Our fully-qualified nursing staff can provide round the clock support and symptom management to ensure that your loved one is as comfortable as possible during their stay with us. When it comes to any form of care, we know that there is no place like home, and that’s why our palliative care services are tailored specifically to each individual, so that they feel valued, safe, understood and cared for in the days they spend with us, surrounded by friendly and familiar faces.
